Michael Perry Stowell Dicken was born on 5 July 1923 in Cairo, Al Qahirah, Egypt, his father, Charles, was 41 and his mother, Alice, was 37. He had one sister. He died on 17 August 1943 at the age of 20, and was buried in Victoria, Australia
