John Byron


Born in 1804, the forty-fourth year of the reign of King George III, and died aged seventy-one in the thirty-ninth year of the reign of Queen Victoria  He has 34 direct descendants in the family.

The Vicar of Elmstone-Hardwicke


John Byron was vicar in the parish of Elmstone-Hardwicke in Gloucestershire for many years, and also Chaplain to the Duke of Sutherland.. He was a second cousin to Lord Byron the poet.

Biography

Rev John Byron was born on 21 September 1804 in Beaumaris, Anglesey, his father, Rear-Admiral Richard Byron was 35 and his mother, Sarah, was 19. He married Mary Richardson (Byron) on 8 December 1830. They had six children during their marriage. He died on 6 December 1878 in Elmstone Hardwicke, Gloucestershire, at the age of 74.
