Robin Jane Grierson was born on 8 July 1957 in Te Kuiti New Zealand, her father, Peter, was 28, and her mother, Patricia, was 20. She was rasied on their family farm at Honikiwi and has one son and two daughters by first husband Simon Vivian. She had two brothers and three sisters. Robyn remarried Mike Garrett and live in Tauranga New Zealand.
