Died in the ninth year of the reign of King George IV  He has 3 direct descendants in the family.

Around 1798 Peter Thomas Richardson accompanied his cousin, Frances Hogan, to Capetown as her clerk, together with Frances' husband and their first two children. They planned to settle there - Capetown had been seized from the Dutch a few years before. Michael Hogan was working with ship captain Mungo Gilmore, who in later life would become a business partner with Peter Thomas Richardson.
