Nesta Mary Richardson


Daughter of Alexander Richardson and Sarah Jane Sandison. .

Born in 1888, the fifty-first year of the reign of Queen Victoria, and died aged ninety-one in the twenty-seventh year of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II  She has 1 direct descendant in the family.

Centenary Dinner


Nesta Monsell was at the Centenary Dinner of A&WT Richardson in 1950 and on 18 May 1976 at her flat (Flat 2, 6 Onslow Square, SW7 3NP) gave Tim Richardson a copy of the Centenary Dinner menu and a photo of her brother, Col Charles Richardson. She may also have had some Richardson bricks on her balcony.

Thames Barge Nesta

It is likely that the Richardson barge Nesta was named after her. The barge was built for her father by Alfred Marconi White in Teynham in 1898, when his daughter was ten years old.

The barge was sold seven years later to Albert Wood who operated it until around 1938.
