Sarah Jane Sandison was born on 27 July 1843 in Middlesex, her father, William, was 55, and her mother, Elizabeth, was 54. She married Alexander Richardson on 11 April 1872 in West London, England, They had three children during their marriage. She died on 26 February 1926 in Northwood, Middlesex, at the age of 82, and was buried in London, England.
