Captain Derek Russell de Courcy Trasenster was born in 9 November 1924 in Newton Abbot, Devon.

He was the son of Major William Augustus Trasenster and Brenda de Courcy Barrett.

He married Susan Felicity Standish, daughter of Edward William Standish and Sheila Margaret Byron, on 17 December 1949 at St. Paul's, Knightsbridge, London, England.

He died on 31 October 2014 at the age of 89.

He gained the rank of Captain in the 4th/7th Royal Dragoon Guards.

TRASENSTER- Derek Russell de Courcy, died peacefully at home on 31st October, 2014, aged 89. Devoted husband of Susan, much loved father of Mark and Camilla, 'Poppa' to seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Thanksgiving service at St Mary's Church, Upton Grey, Hampshire at 2.00 pm on Monday 10th November. Family flowers only.
