Robert Mason Foreman was born on 2 November 1907 in Port Chalmers, Otago, his father, Robert, was 27 and his mother, Hettie, was 26. He married Marie Catherine Guinness Kissel in 1936 in New Zealand. They had two children during their marriage. He died in 1968 in Takapuna, Auckland, at the age of 61.
