Francis Benjamin Hart (Ben) Guinness


Son of Edwin Rowland Guinness (Sen.) Guinness and Florence Annie Plaisted. .

Born in 1891, the fifty-fourth year of the reign of Queen Victoria, and died aged twenty-four in the fifth year of the reign of King George V


2nd Lt Francis Benjamin Hart Guinness( Canterbury Mounted Rifles) was born in July 1891 in New Zealand, his father, Edwin Rowland Guinness was 44 and his mother, Florence, was 31. He had three brothers and one sister. He died on 25 August 1915 at the age of 24,as a result of wounds on board HMHS Gloucester at Gallipol and was buried in Gelibolu, Canakkale, Turkey
