Biography


Florence (Flossie) Edith Spray was born on 17 October 1902 in Bexhill, Sussex, her father, Albert Ball, was 19, and her mother, Alice, was 16. Since her birth was prior to her perents actual wedding. Florence Edith Spray was adopted by her uncle James Henry Spray and his wife Emma Crawford. As a young girl she immigrated to New Zealand, with her adoptive perents. She married Frank Guinness Richardson in 1925 in Auckland, New Zealand.The couple pioneered a dairy farm at Torehape East Road. Kaiherei , Near Ngata, with a small post war grant WW1.They had three children in 10 years. After Frank died ,Flossie relocated to Auckland to look after her aging adopted parents (James & Emma Spray ) She loved fishing and even in her seventies she enjoyed a monthly charter boat trip on the Kaipara Harbour .She died on 9 January 1979 in 63 Halesowen Ave, Mt Roskil , Auckland New Zealand, due to heart failour at the age of 76 and was cremated at Purewa Cemertry Auckland
