2nd Lt Austin Ausiem Delaney was born on 31 January 1887 in Hamilton, Waikato, his father, Patrick, was 58 and his mother, Ann, was 38. He married Ivy Rose Nelson on 28 April 1918 in Oxford, Oxfordshire. He then married Ruby Constance Guinness in 1941 in Tauranga, Bay of Plenty. He died on 30 July 1954 in Tauranga, Bay of Plenty, at the age of 67, and was buried in Bay of Plenty.
