Thomas William Beare was born in October 1864 in Breage, Cornwall, England, his father, Thomas, was 25 and his mother, Martha, was 21. He married Josephine Stanford on January 8, 1896, in Greymouth, West Coast, New Zealand. He died on May 8, 1946, in Fitzroy, Victoria, Australia, at the age of 81, and was buried in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
