Estelle Evelyn Green was born on 24 January 1919 in Thames-Coromandel, Waikato, her father, Roy, was 29, and her mother, Florice, was 50. She married Preston Dale Hunter on 28 June 1941. She then married Angus Crosbie (Brownie) Carnachan in New Zealand. She died on 3 August 1984 in Tauranga, Bay of Plenty, at the age of 65, and was buried in Thames, Waikato
