Florence Winifred Jones was born on March 18, 1892, in Canterbury, New Zealand, her father, Edgar, was 41, and her mother, Florence, was 33. She married John Charles Guinness on December 18, 1918, in New Zealand. They had three children in 34 years. She died in March 1981 in Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand, at the age of 89, and was buried in Timaru, Canterbury, New Zealand.
