Margaret Joyce Shaw was born on 13 May 1876 in Stretford, Lancashire, her father, James, was 38, and her mother, Susannah, was 31. She married Nigel Canning Richardson in September 1907 in Wellington. They had one child during their marriage. She died on 27 September 1936 at the age of 60.
